Buakaw Banchamek is one of the most popular Muay Thai fighters of this era and responsible for showcasing Muay Thai strikes within kickboxing rules. In 2004, he was known as Buakaw Por.Pramuk and entered the K-1 World MAX tournament as an unknown. Furthermore he was an alternate but when another fighter had to withdrawal due to injury, he grabbed the opportunity… and the rest, as they say, is history.
After an illegal kickboxing move, Takayuki Kohiruimaki felt the full punishment from Buakaw and had no answer to the Muay Thai knee strikes and power kicks.
